The OpenLuna Foundation seeks to return mankind to the lunar surface,
first through robotic missions, followed by manned exploration, culminating
in an eight person permanent outpost, and to do all of this in a way that it
is accessible to everyone. Our research and technology will be open-source, we
are privately funded, and one of our specific goals is to reach out to the
community and educational systems to spread interest, enthusiasm, and involvement.

Welcome to the OpenLuna Blog. This will be used for non developmental communications. Things like what’s going on in the OL world, news, conferences we’re attending, even general space news, financial information, etc.
All in all it should be a bunch of fun, interesting, in fact, downright captivating. Well, that’s our …
The Apollo missions to the moon had as significant of a cultural impact on the inhabitants of this planet
as it did a technological one. It changed the viewpoint of people worldwide not just the USA.
More significantly the three most prominent events of the 60's and 70's in the USA were (not necessarily in this order)
the assassination of President Kennedy, the waging of the Vietnam war, and the Apollo missions to the Moon.
Imagine what our world would be like if the last one was missing and we had only the first two.
An excellent documentary, as gripping as any fictional movie, is "In the Shadow of the Moon", a Ron Howard Film.
OpenLuna proudly supports the ideals of
